Introducing the Image-Guided Surgery Leadership Group
The Image-Guided Surgery Laboratory was established in 2004 at the Center for Medical Science and Technology Research, Tehran University of Medical Sciences. This laboratory focuses on processes that enable more accurate localization and display for surgeons during surgery.
The main objectives of the laboratory are as follows:
Design and development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology
Use of Augmented Reality (AR) technology in medical imaging
Development of methods to improve surgical systems
Processing and analysis of medical images
Segmentation and registration of medical images
Development of 3D reconstruction methods and volumetric display of medical images
